About Lovely Professional University

Covering an area of approximately 600 acres of National Highway-1, situated at the heart of Jalandhar city, Lovely Professional University (LPU) is India’s largest private university in terms of intake of potential students. It is a semi-residential university developed under the state government private university act. It has separate hostels for both boys and girls and has around 10,000 residents. The university has a strength of 24,000 students. Every year students come from all around India as well as other parts of the world. At present there are students from 23 different Indian states and 10 different countries.

The university is recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC) under Section 2 of UGC Act 1956. This university is also a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It is also recognized, for open and distance learning, by Distance Education Council (DEC). It is acknowledged by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is also recognized by many others like Pharmacy council of India (PCI), Council of Architecture (COA) and Bar Council of India (BCI).

LPU has grown from a small institution to a large scale management and IT university. It is a global university which has shown superb strength in both education and entrepreneurship. It trains its students in such a way that it not only serves the manpower need of India but the whole world as well. The education system of LPU is such that it does not only enrich the students intellectually but also personally. It is seen that the student’s creativity is enhanced in the period of time that they spend in the campus. The university takes care about not only a student’s academic excellence but trains him with project works and participative learning in such a way that he becomes ready for his professional life as well.

The students of LPU are exposed to real life working conditions so they are used to the experience and hence they are highly demanded by employers from all over the world. The industrial training and vocational courses that the students have to participate help develop their maturity and make them more employable. The students are taught in such a way that they are aware of the corporate culture. The students of LPU are very good in academics but they also have excellent management skills like problem solving, communication, working as a team, leading a team etc.

The courses that are offered by LPU are as follows:

- Bachelor of Business Administration - it is a 3 year course and can be pursued after completion of 10+2.
- Master of Business Administration - it is a 2 years course and can be pursued after graduation from any stream.
- Post graduate Diploma in Business Management - it is a 1 year course and can be pursued after completion of graduation.
- Bachelor of Computer Application / Bachelor of Science in Information Technology / Diploma in Computer Application - these courses can be pursued after completion of 10+2.
- Master of Computer Applications / Master of Science in Information Technology / Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications - these courses can be pursued after graduation.
